Kationen
Unter einem Kation verstehen wir ein positiv geladenes Atom oder Molekül.
Das bedeutet, dass in dem Teilchen mehr positiv geladene Protonen als negativ geladene Elektronen vorhanden sind.
Damit dieser Zustand entsteht, gibt das Teilchen ein Außenelektron ab. Die Abgabe mehrerer Elektronen ist ebenso möglich.
Für die Abspaltung eines Elektrons ist Energie nötig. Diese wird auch als Ionisierungsenergie (IE) bezeichnet.
